Can someone explain the raw food diet to me?

I've read up on the BARF diet, is this the same thing? It seems time consuimg and expensive. Can someone explain the raw food diet to me?
Two good websites to learn more about raw feeding http://www.rawfed.com and http://www.rawlearning.com . Sometimes you can get lucky and find meats for great prices. There are co-ops where a bunch of people buy in bulk to save money. You can ask local hunters for leftovers from their kills, place ads for freezer burned meats. Or, look for marked down meats at your local grocery store/butcher. In the long run it's cheaper than kibble, and your dog will be much healthier.

As far as my understanding of the BARF diet, I believe that's the one that says you should feed vegetables and supplements. Of course there are debates whether or not dogs need either one, so that's up to you to decide. Can someone explain the raw food diet to me?
BARF is a type of raw feeding. It works but is pricey and i am not a huge fan. I support prey model raw diet. You would want to research more in depth before deciding but essentially you feed your dog 2-3% of their body weight. 80% of what you feed is whole meats, this means meat bones and all. Example would be like a whole chicken halve, or a leg of lamb. The other 20% is organs (gizzards, hearts, etc.)

Raw feeding can be a little more time consuming but is so good for dogs. As long as you shop smart it can be cheaper than most good kibble. Can someone explain the raw food diet to me?

It is safer to feed your dog good quality pet food. These have all the nutrition your dog needs. When you feed your dog raw food you can't be sure it is getting what it needs. They have all natural pet food, much safer.
