How many pounds should i expect to loose in a month if i go on a raw food vegan diet?

I am 5'10 and weight 280 lbd. Also what are the positives and negatives involved.How many pounds should i expect to loose in a month if i go on a raw food vegan diet?
If you are converting from a Standard American Diet (SAD), you can expect to lose about 3 pounds per week initially. Over time, you will find that your weight plateaus, perhaps at a weight that is higher than your ideal.



You may then need to consider the timing of meals and the portions consumed. Three meals per day is standard (with no snacking) and you last meal should be before 6 PM. You can probably eat unlimited quantities of raw non-starchy vegetables and unlimited quantities of leafy green vegetables. You need at least a cup of whole grains (brown rice, quinoa, and so on), and one cup of legumes for protein. Two or three whole fruits is good. Ground flax seed is ideal for Omega-3 fatty acids. This is a tricky one. There's no way of telling how much weight you're going to lose, because so many factors come into play when trying to shed extra pounds.

Are you also incorporating some physical exercise in your daily routine?

Are you going on a 100% raw diet?

What foods do you plan to include on your daily menu?

Have you calculated your basal metabolic rate (meaning how many calories do you need per day to survive)?

I've included an online BMR calculator to help you discover yours. Once you've found your BMR, try to consume 200 calories less than what it says there, each day. For example if your BMR shows that you need 2000 calories per day, you should be eating around 1800, to encourage your body to start using some of the stored calories. If you cut too many calories in an attempt to shed weight faster, you may end jeopardizing your overall health, so I wouldn't advise it.

The goal is to lose fat, not just weight in general. If you are doing strength training during your weight loss (which you should be), you might actually see an initial gain in weight. If this is the case, don't worry! You have probably lost fat and gained muscle, which is denser than fat and is much healthier.
