A diet of only raw food is hard on the digestion. It is hard to get all the nutrition. A fasting diet with some juices might work better.Have you ever been on a raw food diet?
You're wrong on the definition of a raw foods diet.

A raw foodist eats foods that are eaten without being cooked above 115 degrees farenheit. A raw foodist can eat raw dairy, eggs, meat, fish and honey - they just eat these raw. A raw vegan eats only nuts, fruits, vegetables, seeds, and can use a dehydrator to make breads, crackers, etc. You can also sprout things. People often believe it is far more difficult than it actually is.

No, you cannot boil vegetables on a raw food diet, that's over 115 degrees. The entire purpose of a raw foods diet is to eat the vegetables without killing their enzymes, which the boiling does. Eating only fruits and vegetables will not make you healthy, you aren't getting all of your nutrients in.

Yes I have followed this diet before. I've been eating raw for a month and a half now, but plan to transition back to cooked foods soon.
Boiling fruits and veges cooks the enzymes out of them. The idea of a raw food diet is to leave the enzymes intact within the foods you eat. A raw food diet consists of fresh fruits and vegetable, seeds such as sunflower, pumpkin, and flax seeds, raw nuts such as Brazil, almonds, and cashews. You can eat sprouts like alfalfa, bean and broccoli and many are easy to sprout on your own. Sea vegetables like dulse and algae such as spirulina are filled with vitamins and minerals. There are many recipes for tasty smoothies and different salads that you can find on the internet or in the many books on the market. The raw food diet can definitely help detox your body and improve your health.Have you ever been on a raw food diet?
Boiled food is not raw. Heating food above 116 degrees Fahrenheit isnt raw either. Many people find it helpful to invest in a dehydrator for this reason. Raw food is not only fresh fruits and veggies but nuts, seeds and sprouts as well.

Some people consider 75% intake of raw foods overall as a "raw diet". Some people say you must eat entirely raw foods for it to be considered a raw diet.

I've been raw on and off, but it's not something I can afford all the time. The longest I've been is two and 1/2 weeks...I felt absolutely wonderful, but food prep can get tedious; chopping veggies/fruits, sprouting legumes and seeds, dehydrating crackers, etc.

my aunt was on this type of diet after she went to a iridiologist (person that can tell what is wrong with your body by just looking at your iris) and that lady told her that u HAVE TO drink orange juice for three days after the 21 days in order to awaken ur body..because u can go into shock by just jumping to a regular diet, since all ur body are not used to sinthesizing the "new foods"...

oh and she also said that even if u only decide to keep it for seven days, still do the OJ afterwards.

ok that's just my 20 cents on the issue..Have you ever been on a raw food diet?
I major problem when going on a 'raw food diet' is the lack of nutrients being ingested in your system that red meat/poultry etc provide especially iron.

So make sure just to balance between the fruits and vegies and meat.

It can become very dangerous if your iron levels become too low.

Nuts and all those won't provide enough iron. soo yeah hope this helps :)
It's not a healthy long term diet.

raw meat in the gleam of summer...eating flesh from a variety of strange beasts.

What a tale for two.
