Feeding dogs raw food??? If you don't live in the country, do u just buy the meat at the grocery store?

what is the benefit of feeding raw food??Feeding dogs raw food??? If you don't live in the country, do u just buy the meat at the grocery store?
There is no benefit to feeding a raw diet to dogs. In fact dogs are not true carnivores- they are herbivores- they will eat anything. The are domesticated and not really able to handle the raw diet. the AVMA does not recommend the raw diet wither. You are putting you and your dog at risk for many types of parasites and bacterial diseases- such as salmonella. I do not think it is a good thing to do for your dog- the dogs that I see that come into to our vet that are on this diet are constantly battling diarrhea and never look thrifty. It is not a good thing to do.Feeding dogs raw food??? If you don't live in the country, do u just buy the meat at the grocery store?
Think of it this way, dogs can't cook. Nature didn't intend for them to cook. Dogs are natural hunters therefor eat meat.

It's a safe bet that by nature, dogs are supposed to eat raw meat.

Plus raw meat contains enzymes. Which will keep your pet heathly. They can eat raw meat because they have short digestive systems and the food is proceeded before bacteria can take effect.
I don't really think you should feed your dog raw food like steak that is like totally uncooked cause it might have salmanila.

We just buy are dog food at the grocery store cause they come in cans.Feeding dogs raw food??? If you don't live in the country, do u just buy the meat at the grocery store?
the benefit is that you know exactly what your dog is eating, and can tailor its diet specifically to its needs.
The only benefit is you can decide exactly what your dog eats. I personally think there are more benefits in getting your dog the organic dog food. That way you know that everything your dog is getting is organic. If you feed your dog raw food be careful what you give it cause it can get sick.Feeding dogs raw food??? I would have never thought of feeding raw food. Are you talking raw raw or you mean meat that you purchase and prepare for them. Because with Raw meat you can get ring worm, with prepared meat you're less likely to get ring worm or other parasites living within th meat.
Dogs are carnivores, not omnivores, yet many commercial dog foods contain more grain than meat! With the recent pet food scare, a lot of people also started making their own dog food. There's still debates over the benefits of raw feeding, but many people choose raw food because it contains natural enzymes, which help digestion, and because it's closer to what a dog would eat in the wild.

Some people do buy raw meat at the grocery store (bony pieces like chicken necks and backs and tough, grisly cuts), but a number of small pet food companies exist just to supply the raw pet food market. You can buy raw meats from places like www.rawdogranch.com and www.hare-today.com to make your own diet, or you can purchase pre-made raw pet foods. An online search for "raw dog food" turns up quite a bit.
You can buy raw meat and feed it to your dogs. There isn't much benefit in it being raw... it can cause some parasite issues or food poisoning, although these days that is kinda rare. However, you should know that a dog has similar dietary needs to humans. They cannot survive only on meat for very long. You need to make sure they are getting some vegetable matter and a source of carbohydrates, such as oats or rice.
Just be careful not to feed them too much ground beef because it contains a high amount of bacteria! The benefits are that you lower the amount of toxins in their diet, you increase tha amount of nutrients, you increase the amount of water intake, you closely mimic their natural diet (because in nature dogs usually eat small prey) but they can also digest vegetables and some grain! Raw meat seldomly has the chance to culture bacteria or parasites in their digestive systems because their digestive tracks are alot shorter than ours.

You also increase their vitality!!
the best benefit i can think of is that u know what ur putting into ur dog's body. u arent looking at an ingredient pannel and seeing something that u dont know what it is. u know what u r feeding u know what is used on that product.
The problem with feeding raw food is that if you only give them meat, they won't get the other stuff like the bones and organ meat that has the extra nutrients they need. If you do this, get a good vitamin supplement to put on the food to make sure they get the nutrients they need to prevent hip problems and assure digestive health.
you could just buy the brand natures variety.its raw and very healthy and human grade.go to naturesvariety.com
