How do i clean the area where i feed my dog raw food to avoid the chances of getting salmonella?

i feed my dog the prey model diet. I feed him outside in his bowl but he always take the raw food out and eats it on the grass. How am i suppose to clean it do i bleach. And also what if he licks me on the face will i get salmonella. I go outside on the grass everyday so is there a chance that it will infect meHow do i clean the area where i feed my dog raw food to avoid the chances of getting salmonella?
Sunlight will kill salmonella in the grass. That and the fact that it dries quickly. Salmonella needs warm, moist...meaty places to live.

Licking doesn't transmit as much bacteria as you think. Just wait an hour or 2 after meals before you let him get all kissy with you and NEVER - EVER let a dog lick your mouth.How do i clean the area where i feed my dog raw food to avoid the chances of getting salmonella?
I agree with answer no.1. You could also try using a plastic mat to feed you dog on. It is possible to re-train the dog into eating where YOU choose. But I also feed the same diet and have never worried about this. I do make sure that I use anti-bacterial handwash after preparing the food though!
