Is it ok for dogs to eat raw food?

like raw food out of a refrigerator when u bought it last night or sumthing, and how are they able to eat it and we can't?Is it ok for dogs to eat raw food?
Well for one dogs are not humans. Dogs come from Wolves and that is there natural food is raw from a kill, we don't come from wolves. Dogs love raw food and it is very good for them.

I feed my dogs raw treats 3 x a week. With raw dogs can eat the bone, it is cooked bone they can not eat. I give them chicken hearts and livers, turkey necks, chicken legs, pork feet, tripe, beef knuckle. They love it!Is it ok for dogs to eat raw food?
Raw is one of the better diets out there for dogs. There are some kibble that is a very close diet to raw just in dry food. Dogs don't need veggies and fruit like we do, there body thrives off of healthy non-processed protein.
The answer is simple: Maybe.

It depends on the type of meat, where you bought it, what sort of raw meat it is, and a host of other factors. Generally speaking, if you kill the animal yourself and give the dog a bit right then, it is good and fine.

Yes, as others have pointed out dogs would eat raw food in the wild (humans would to, that doesn't make it better for us), however dogs and wolves aren't primarily scavengers. They eat fresh raw meats, not packaged and shipped stuff.

The meat you might buy at WalMart and the sort is barely fit for human consumption when cooked; don't risk your dog on it. Whole Foods or similar markets are a better choice if you simply must buy raw food for your dog (and fresh kills are better still). Is it ok for dogs to eat raw food?
I did a lot of research about raw feeding before I finally felt comfortable starting. Maybe you could research a little more before just feeding random food from your refrigerator.
that's a good question....but even if we were able to eat raw meat i wouldn't.....YUCK ! I'd imagine it could cause worms in the dog. try discussing this with your vet on your dogs next check up. i only give my dog a dry food ....it helps to keep her teeth clean and healthy and she loves it.Is it ok for dogs to eat raw food?
There's nothing wrong with this--many people choose to feed their pets a raw diet.
Essentially, the simple answer is yes, it's ok to feed raw.

However, As example, chicken for human consumption is full of hormones and steroids also there is bacteria allowed because people cook their food and it'll kill bacteria.

Anouther example is restraunts are not allowed to serve rare steaks, burgers etc for a reason. Kills bacteria and the internal temperature is determined by law to do so.

Will this hurt a dog? Their digestive systems are different of course, but sominella is sominella and it's not good for dogs anymore than people.

On the other hand, I feed RAW. But none comes from Shaws /Stop %26amp; shop / Walmart / etc. It mostly all comes from farm raised, hunting, fishing etc. Hopefully it's better quality than the dyed meats at the store.
Yeah it's ok for dogs to have a raw diet. They come from the wolf family which has a raw diet.
