Is it the most healthy diet due to the fact that you are basing your diet on fresh fruit and vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts, grains, beans, nuts, dried fruit, and seaweed? I consume these things already but I have non-fat yogurt, milk, and free-range meats (beef, poultry, lamb, etc) in my diet also. Is this best, or would it actually be more beneficial to go raw (health wise)? Is the Raw Food Diet the most healthy diet in the world?
Erika-While I don't eat from the Raw Food Diet most of the time, I think it's great to enhance my relatively healthy diet with some of their elements. I think it is a really healthy diet...but obviously not for everyone. The best diet is the one that's right for you. In San Francisco, I've eaten at this restaurant, Cafe Gratitude. Like I said, even as an omnivore...I found some great food to enjoy there. I am not vegetarian or vegan but I would return there again for a good meal. Here's a peek at their menu.

No "diet" is the best diet. A diet should be based upon your nutritional needs. The raw food diet is quite healthy considering you are trying to obtain the most nutrients out of everything you can eat; however, the diet is very limited and certain foods, such as beans and legumes, are quite a hastle tp prepare considering you cannot cook them, so you must soak them in non-boiling water to allow the bean/legume to sprout. Eating beans and legumes raw will actually provide no nutritional value if you do not allow them to sprout and fully mature.
Cooking - especially cooking badly - reduces the nutritional value of many foods.
The advantage of cooking is that it sterilises the food and ensures no harmful bugs.
Some foods are toxic if uncooked, and some are more digestible after cooking.
When you cook veg, never put it in cold water and then heat - the slow warming accelerates enzyme action and can destroy a lot of the vitamin content.
Always drop it in to strongly boiling water; the rapid heating destroys the enzymes before they can have much effect and the nutritional content is affected far less.
Other things are hardly affected by cooking. Home-made wholemeal bread is far more palatable than a handful of wheat, and very nutritious! Is the Raw Food Diet the most healthy diet in the world?
Hi Erica, You would be better going with the diet you already have which seems to include most of what you need. All that raw food might be fine for squirrels but I think we omnivores need a better balance.I hope this helps, all the best. Rab
you get sick by eating raw food
eat some fatty foods
junk foods
fish and chips
crisps
ice cream
chocolate
fudge cake
belgian chocolate muffins
mini chocolate rolls
cheesetrings
fatty cheese
coke
fizzy drinks
pepsi
kfc
favourites
dalias
fat fried chicken
t-bone steak
grilled beef
fat fish
just eat all that and it will be a healthy dietIs the Raw Food Diet the most healthy diet in the world?
the only reason raw food is healthier is because you haven't cooked it in oil and it still has its nutrients
It probably isn't the best diet. but it is very good.
