Odd question, but as I have just reported the spam I will try to answer.
Folowers believe that a raw food diet enhances your body's ability to prevent and fight diseases, especially chronic diseases. They say that raw and living foods contain essential food enzymes that are destroyed if the food is heated to above 116 Fahrenheit (47 Celsius/Centigrade).
I have to disagree here as the antioxidants in many vegetables are enhanced by cooking. They lose vit C though.
Emotionally? I don't really know. You make a decision and if it worries you the best thing to do is change that decision. I don't see how it could affect the emotions - unless you get cross at the energy and organisation involved in following the diet. Also if you worry about accepting invitations to meals or parties.
Socially? Who cares? some people will raise eyebrows, others will accept your decision and try to accommodate it. Friends accept, the rest don't matter do they?
From the link...
A study surveying people practicing raw food diets of varying intensities found that 30% of the women under age 45 had partial to complete amenorrhoea and that "subjects eating high amounts of raw food (%26gt; 90%) were affected more frequently than moderate raw food dieters". The study concluded that since many raw food dieters were underweight and exhibited amenorrhoea "a very strict raw food diet cannot be recommended on a long-term basis".
