What is you opinion of Bones & Raw Food diets for cats? What are the Pros & Cons?

I have a cat and two kittens, aside from the mother cat I'm fostering for the local shelter. My cat, Tigger, is a Maine Coon Cat that weighs 16 pounds. In some cases that can be a healthy weight for Maine Coons but she's extreamly fat and none of the conventional diet food have worked for her, not even the vet recommended Medi-Cal. I've been doing research on BARF (Bones %26amp; Raw Food) diets thinking maybe that the lack of preservatives might do her some good. What do you think? What is you opinion of Bones %26amp; Raw Food diets for cats? What are the Pros %26amp; Cons?
Have you ever tried Royal Canin? They have a food called "trim", that may work. I would try that before a raw food diet. I don't know about bones, but I have heard about the raw food diet. There are many pros and cons to it - that is if you do it correctly. I'm not sure I would try it, but if it is your last resort, then I would try it. You need to know though, if you decide to switch to that diet, you need to do it gradually or else it could cause digestive upset for the cat. I got a kitten that I needed to switch from that diet. To switch to that diet, only put a small amount of it with the dry food, then more and more. What is you opinion of Bones %26amp; Raw Food diets for cats? What are the Pros %26amp; Cons?
