Absolutely - the sooner the better.
Over the last 15 years I have weaned and raised litters on raw food, and converted acquired puppies straight onto raw. Good luck with your new puppy and happy hunting !

No doubt you will get a lot of negative bulls*it from the nay-sayers with no raw feeding knowledge though ;-)Is it ok to start a ten week old puppy on a raw food diet?
I would keep him on the puppy food for a couple of months, you can also begin adding a little of the raw dog food to his diet.
No you shouldn't build him up on dry food. No need for it. Nor is there a need for you to transition the pup to raw over "several months" people if you have no clue about raw feeding don't answer these questions.
You can switch the pup cold turkey to raw feeding today if you like. There are plenty of pups out there who went from mother's milk right to raw.Is it ok to start a ten week old puppy on a raw food diet?
I've weaned pups to raw, so yes, it's perfectly ok. Since he was only fed table scraps, he's probably going to have a little diarrhea whatever you feed him
Yes, it's completely OK.
Puppies will need a much higher %body weight ratio to keep up with their growth. Is it ok to start a ten week old puppy on a raw food diet?
Siobhan; If I buy a pup, it never crosses my mind to ask what it's been fed on. Doesn't matter. Moment I get it home it's on raw flesh and bones. I could show ye a photo of one of my eight week old Jack Russell's tucking into a bowl or raw meat
Same for adult Dogs I bring in. First meal is a couple of chunks of raw flesh and bone. Nearest to a 'diarrhoea reaction' I've ever seen is a huge, soft pile of vile, stinking stuff which comes out of them in the first twelve hours. Result of the 'Complete Diet' filth they'd last eaten before I got them.
It is probably better to build him with the dry puppy food. As sudden changes in diet can cause diarrhea. Gradually add your raw food diet into the dry food until the whole bowl is raw diet. Take this process over several months.
I would keep your puppy on puppy food table scrapes is the worse food to ever give to him/her.
Try mixing can food with the dry food together if not then feed it with a fork or spoon, or hand feed it until he/she eats on it own.
Remember do not give in to morgan by giving it table scrapes because in years to come your dog will have problems if it continues to eat table food.
