I feel like that would taste discusting. Has anyone ever had a raw food smoothie? How was it?Would a raw food smoothie like this taste really bad?
i love making smoothies like that.....
back when i used to drink protein powder i would put a scoop in with carrots, banana, blueberries, pineapple, mango and arugula lettuce. now i still do that, but without the god-awful sugary fake chocolate taste of the protein powder.....
if you don't wanna drink milk then use rice dream. i like it and buy it all the time, though i also drink milk and eat meatWould a raw food smoothie like this taste really bad?
I've made raw foods smoothies. But I usually make them with fresh juice that I make in my juicer. I never tried a banana with tomatoes and celery, though. It might work. Don't knock it until you try it.
I do know from experience that a mixture of apple juice and carrot juice is an excellent combination.
The way I usually make raw food smoothies is I'll juice apple juice and orange juice in the juicer and then puree that with a banana and some berries in a blender along with some crushed ice. And yes, these are very good.
Edit: And, the nuts and seeds are always good in smoothies. This is an old, homemade, hippie form of protein powder. I grind pumpkin seeds, almonds, sunflower seed and flax seeds together. I use one of those old fashioned, hand-cranked coffee grinders. You can grind the nuts and seeds into a fine powder by using the coffee grinder. Add them to any smoothie..... very good. Nuts and seeds are very high in protein.
The person who wrote the recipe said that this might taste "too green". What they really meant was it might taste too bitter, as all green plants are somewhat bitter. So sure, go ahead and try it and see what you think. Personally, if I were you, I would invest in a juicer. You get the same nutritional benefits from drinking raw juice that you would from drinking a raw smoothie.Would a raw food smoothie like this taste really bad?
